tendance de la mode étrangère vol2. jouetie

Sorry, I have been neglecting my blog so badly! I know that I may not have many readers or followers but I love fashion and I feel like I have disrespected my passion!... and that my mannequin is still wearing the outfit from my last post:(

So today, it's about the new brand I have found called ' jouetie'

It is a popular Harajuku brand that many teens in Japan LOVE!
The brand concept is rock grundge with a heap of fun!!!
The directors of the brand are called Ami and Aya- a twin japanese fashion icon for teens!
they are so cute! they are flawless dolls!
The bows are like the iconic Hello Kitty that was created in this very country

Check out their latest collection

Here the oversized scratched denim vest creates contrast against the feminine fine delicate lace.
BAD ANGEL

I would wear this now!! In this weird weather, the rusty pink blazer over leopard is what I feel...
Don''t you love the lacy socks on hard rocking shoes?
Beetles 2012? I love the fluro pink tie-dye converses

I WANT THIS TOP!!!!!
minty green and peach! retro

jouetie makes the best custom converse's
these are black with studs, paint and gold buttons
On their website, you can choose what you want on your ideal shoe!

it's great because it even does overseas shipping!!

tendance de la mode étrangère vol1. Lily Brown

When Octavia Spencer won her award at the Oscars, I was so happy for her. It was only a month ago I saw The Help, and 2 months ago I saw the Ugly Betty episode with her acting as Ignasio's keen lover.
I must say, her speech was so cute and pure. I loved the movie, especially the costume aspect of it! 50's I adore...
I try to keep watch for new brands in the world, and I came across this store!

Opened in September 2011. It is a vintage- inspired brand located in several places within Tokyo, Japan.  It is highly inspired by the amazing era of the 50's with a shift of the 10's!

These photo's are from the spring/summer 2012 collection. The square bag with a silk scarf recklessly wrapped and the mustard coloured leggings! I must say, that is a great piece of the mix in the era's...

Great mid shot of the fair young model. The denim jacket- the symbol from then sex symbol James Dean, and the dress is clearly inspired by the iconic Yves Saint Laurent 60's Jersey Dress. I know it's not the 50's, it's still pretty!

Mustard again, and I wish I was able to pull off a hat like that! I love how the colour is so authentic, like something that Granny might pull off but the material and the sillouette is our age.

These amazing pieces are alll from Lily Brown. How retro are these beautiful sherbet colors are?
Especially the shirt dress has got such a old look with the length and the print yet a mode edge with the cut out shoulders

loving this shop? I think so!

Oh La La!

I was browsing around the city the other day and ran into a beautiful art book shop.
I came across many gorgeous colors, paper's almost like lace and to die for illustrations. I very much wanted to peer open the golden Christian Louboutin book that was inviting me to sneek a small peek. ONE DAY, I'll own a pair of nude red soles! Well, One book I did peer in without interest at first, was the book published by Dita Von Teese. I don't know why her book was magically in my hands, it was fate!
The cover is very old school and cute! Baby blue background with Dita ravelled with PINK!
Her body it self is art!

Never concidered the art of Burlesque to be amazing. I am a woman, also a teen. I don't have interest in these kind of fettish acts. Yet I always thought Dita's look, her fashion and her mysterious acts always drawed me in. It was like the time had stopped only around her.

Here, she strolls sround in NY, wearing Dior- loving the leather long sleeves, waist mark with the flairing skirt, heels with her signature red lip stick!

Loving the vintage-like printed high waisted gathered dress. The prints are like the one's from my mom's apron, yet by Dita wearing it, it just looks like a one- and- only couture from Dolce and Gabbana. The neck line is also gorgeous, and complements her lips, retro hair and the sunglasses.

WOW, burlesque star in the 50's! retro, but cutting edge... the V-neckline is not at all erotic, with the scarf, it gives it a very feminine vibe to it. the balloon sleeves is also retro and the knee length skirt. I also love that she also tightened up the outfit with the bold leopard prints on her shoes, clutch and sunnies. He makeup and hair is all too flawless...

that 70's girl

One of my most loved on screen icon would have to be Iris from Taxi Driver.
When you see Jodie Foster Acting as Iris, the whole screen pops with colour. The film is classified as a thriller- I mean Robert De Niro is scary, cannot believe now he plays the dad in meet the parents... so what I want to say is that the screen is dull and heavy until you see the low-teen prostitute, blooming with the beautiful colour palates. I'm feeling 70's.

So I thought, Chanel Spring 2010 ready-to-wear was vibing off Iris. (It's not a word...)

The high  waist, and the red shoes ( clogs!) It's a very cute modern take on the 70's look. I love the Shoes... and the basked with patch worked Chanel signature Camellia.

This is from Anna Sui Spring 2011 ready to wear and here also, it has the waist mark of the tied shirt, the Denim Jacket, the red shoes with long bags and the red shoes. This is a little closer to the Iris Look yet it has more patterns- the whimsical patterns of Anna Sui!

Well, I have interpreted it on my Mannequin

Hat- Ammerican Apparel $40? USD at Alamoana shopping centre, Hawaii
Denim Jacket- Zara $?
Tube Top- Whitchery $35 AUD
Skirt- VIntage $35 JPY at an vintage shop in Numazu, Japan
Mocassins- $45 JPY at an vintage shop in Numazu, Japan

I really want the red belt and the white hat, yet to wear on the streets... I'd go for this.

Belt-GAP kids $10

Slip on's are very comfy et easy!

AND my ultimate favourite bag
Vintage Coach $70 at an antique store in Hawaii.

Well, I love Vintage coach... At the moment, their collection's are filled with brown or colourful C's every where and that new Coach Poppy, it's cute that they are aiming at other target markets avoiding the mid 40's to 50's women scrummging at duty free's in air ports. BUT I don't think mixing logo's with sequins are the way to go. I love their genuine leather goods and Can't wait until my mother passes down her hot pink pouch from coach about 12 years ago!
