Kawaii Harajuku!!

Sorry to dissapoint you but in Japan, they don't currently dress like so, they dress a little more conservative. Well, my infomation is a month old and in Tokyo, trends change every second.

But I still do like to go thorugh the old street styles of Japan.
Well, I'm wrong. There are a hand full of girls who still dress like this and Laforet Harajuku is the place to go! I was looking on their website and they offer very wacky stuff... Here are some of my collections!

This is a sailor's uniform inspired bag at swimmer- a popular brand for teens in Japan.

This Angel series is by Nile Perch, a designer for especially for the Lolita girls!

all photos from Laforet

And possibly my favourite wedges in the whole intire world!! How awsome are these! The details to the point if the toes with the baby blue gingham checks, the flower embelishments and the mad gold soles! It's by a brand called La ichii- not like the fruit. 'La' meaning a feminine the in French and 'ichii' =means number one in Japanese. They have made the brand so they'll become the number one kawaii shop in Asia! I reckon it's not far from that day:) This splended shoe is by their irregular choice collection.

tendance de la mode étrangère vol1. Lily Brown

When Octavia Spencer won her award at the Oscars, I was so happy for her. It was only a month ago I saw The Help, and 2 months ago I saw the Ugly Betty episode with her acting as Ignasio's keen lover.
I must say, her speech was so cute and pure. I loved the movie, especially the costume aspect of it! 50's I adore...
I try to keep watch for new brands in the world, and I came across this store!

Opened in September 2011. It is a vintage- inspired brand located in several places within Tokyo, Japan.  It is highly inspired by the amazing era of the 50's with a shift of the 10's!

These photo's are from the spring/summer 2012 collection. The square bag with a silk scarf recklessly wrapped and the mustard coloured leggings! I must say, that is a great piece of the mix in the era's...

Great mid shot of the fair young model. The denim jacket- the symbol from then sex symbol James Dean, and the dress is clearly inspired by the iconic Yves Saint Laurent 60's Jersey Dress. I know it's not the 50's, it's still pretty!

Mustard again, and I wish I was able to pull off a hat like that! I love how the colour is so authentic, like something that Granny might pull off but the material and the sillouette is our age.

These amazing pieces are alll from Lily Brown. How retro are these beautiful sherbet colors are?
Especially the shirt dress has got such a old look with the length and the print yet a mode edge with the cut out shoulders

loving this shop? I think so!

Billyjelina- the ORIGINAL girl with the dragon tatoo

Okay, I love watching the Oscars, yes the films, the best actress, best actor, supporting and costumes!!

Billy Crystal was so humorous with his numerous black jokes referring to the celebrities past... Especially the one I used for my post title. Oh Ange looked PHENOMENAL!! Doesn't everyone want Bold red lip? Her amazing Black frock with her best accessory, Brad Pitt on her side. Oh! Sorry Brad! At this years Oscar, you weren't the best accessory... Atelier Versace's gown's peek of Ange's Leg was the ultimate bling! I don't blame her for constantly emphasising it!

Did you see Tom Cruise at the very end announcing the best pictures?
A little odd I thought, but then again as Billy Crystal said,  He is the man who can make impossible, possible.

Well I'm not mad about men's fashion so I can't comment on his gown, but I will comment on his ex.
Penélope Cruz
She was a princess on the carpet. I saw fairy god mother's magic sparkling around her...
Or I guess she's had the magic around her since the very moment she was born.

OH Armani Prive... how old school gown is this! So, Grace Kelly when she won her first Oscar for country girl, So Sophia Lauren, So Audrey Hepburn. So Classic Hollywood!
I think she was shining out the most out of the most shining ladies on planet earth.

I love Mrs Coldplay or Miss ex-Pitt. Her powerwoman-esque dress fits persectly on her pencil figure... I am jealous. You know, I love how she knows whats best on her, and how she wears unique dresses on the carpet every year. Like that Silver skinny dress with the colourful Louis Vuitton Jewels. And I must say I enjoyed the act with Robert Downey Jr introducing the best documentary.

This woman, is so... beautiful. Such an exotic figure. I really respect Asian power woman in the entertaining industry. Such an inspiration. And she rocks the delicate silver slither dress. Her name is Li Bingbing. Cute name. A very successful Chinese actress. I need to see her films.

Oh, the girl who plays the girl with dragon tattoo in the American version. exceptionally statue-esque girl. The hair, the make up. Kinda looks like she is a porcelin mannequin. I love her dress. Love her!
I just don't understand why people are critisizing her perfection. Roony Mara is a threat. She looks so intimidating. But like the ice- queen from Narnia, you know she's danger but you cannot stop your self stairing at her.

Diamonds are a girl's best friend- when you have some. I don't so i stick with beads

If you are lucky enough to own some real diamonds, wear them and you will be glowing at the Four Seasons Hotel in Manhattan
If you own swarovski's wear them and you will be sparkling for 12 hours at a function with work colleagues and clients
If you have draws of fake bing, you will be blinging your way through crowds at a concert preferably Chris Brown? almost the whole night (until the stones fall off...)
Or like me just owning heaps of beads and sea shells ruling my style while listening to Foo Fighters:)

Summer is almost over in the southern hemisphere... and I want to make the most of it by posting some of my favourite 'diamonds'!

(From Closest) Plain Beaded Gum bracelets- matches with anything and easy going
Turquoise Stones- Gift from Step Dad when he went somewhere for work
Corals- just so magical
dangling turquoise-ish stone with beads on chain- Best find back when I was still in Elementary School
Full of Effort Bead Band- Found in Bali... using stones as beads= legend
Blue balls with a bell- gift from my secret santa

These are my favourites!
Bulky and statement pieces
Great with a simple one-teaspoon dress

Necklaces that are great with Bikinis!
Front one- Wood Beads. Strands of it
Back one- Old shells carefully carved in to a perfect necklace
Huge crystal with rusty red bead circles from Bali

Can you see them?
It's Hiding under the gorgeous Frangipanis.

Earings that I made!!

Oh La La!

I was browsing around the city the other day and ran into a beautiful art book shop.
I came across many gorgeous colors, paper's almost like lace and to die for illustrations. I very much wanted to peer open the golden Christian Louboutin book that was inviting me to sneek a small peek. ONE DAY, I'll own a pair of nude red soles! Well, One book I did peer in without interest at first, was the book published by Dita Von Teese. I don't know why her book was magically in my hands, it was fate!
The cover is very old school and cute! Baby blue background with Dita ravelled with PINK!
Her body it self is art!

Never concidered the art of Burlesque to be amazing. I am a woman, also a teen. I don't have interest in these kind of fettish acts. Yet I always thought Dita's look, her fashion and her mysterious acts always drawed me in. It was like the time had stopped only around her.

Here, she strolls sround in NY, wearing Dior- loving the leather long sleeves, waist mark with the flairing skirt, heels with her signature red lip stick!

Loving the vintage-like printed high waisted gathered dress. The prints are like the one's from my mom's apron, yet by Dita wearing it, it just looks like a one- and- only couture from Dolce and Gabbana. The neck line is also gorgeous, and complements her lips, retro hair and the sunglasses.

WOW, burlesque star in the 50's! retro, but cutting edge... the V-neckline is not at all erotic, with the scarf, it gives it a very feminine vibe to it. the balloon sleeves is also retro and the knee length skirt. I also love that she also tightened up the outfit with the bold leopard prints on her shoes, clutch and sunnies. He makeup and hair is all too flawless...

LOVING THIS GIRL

Why can't I free your doubtful mind and melt your cold cold heart

Today is... VALENTINES DAY! when every where in the world is whirling around with love, chocolates carefully held the men and women; whom may be proposing for marriage or just like hey there let's go out. It's a day in the year when every body gains at least 10pounds except for the chocolatiers and the cake shop owners who at least shed 10 pounds. I don't think I'll have a cute french guy on my door steps today, but I hope I'll get at least one bitter rose from my friends:)

                                                     Valentine's Day (2010) - cutest couple ever!

I may have nothing to do with love at the moment but, this time of the year I couldn't stop feeling romantic. If you go on google today, it's all about LOVE. My dream one day is to have a wonderfully beautiful charming dreamy English guy (love pom accents) with a dozen roses, chocolate covered strawberry boxes from cake boss and a Tiffany & Co. bangle.

Cake Boss
My dream outfit for my ideal date with my darling would be eating at a casual cafe then a stroll to the beach then to a hot bar:)

Bra- Zara

Booties- $60
These cheap chic shoes are just great dressing up or down, silk  candy coloured Anna Sui dress or vintage Levi's 501's.

that 70's girl

One of my most loved on screen icon would have to be Iris from Taxi Driver.
When you see Jodie Foster Acting as Iris, the whole screen pops with colour. The film is classified as a thriller- I mean Robert De Niro is scary, cannot believe now he plays the dad in meet the parents... so what I want to say is that the screen is dull and heavy until you see the low-teen prostitute, blooming with the beautiful colour palates. I'm feeling 70's.

So I thought, Chanel Spring 2010 ready-to-wear was vibing off Iris. (It's not a word...)

The high  waist, and the red shoes ( clogs!) It's a very cute modern take on the 70's look. I love the Shoes... and the basked with patch worked Chanel signature Camellia.

This is from Anna Sui Spring 2011 ready to wear and here also, it has the waist mark of the tied shirt, the Denim Jacket, the red shoes with long bags and the red shoes. This is a little closer to the Iris Look yet it has more patterns- the whimsical patterns of Anna Sui!

Well, I have interpreted it on my Mannequin

Hat- Ammerican Apparel $40? USD at Alamoana shopping centre, Hawaii
Denim Jacket- Zara $?
Tube Top- Whitchery $35 AUD
Skirt- VIntage $35 JPY at an vintage shop in Numazu, Japan
Mocassins- $45 JPY at an vintage shop in Numazu, Japan

I really want the red belt and the white hat, yet to wear on the streets... I'd go for this.

Belt-GAP kids $10

Slip on's are very comfy et easy!

AND my ultimate favourite bag
Vintage Coach $70 at an antique store in Hawaii.

Well, I love Vintage coach... At the moment, their collection's are filled with brown or colourful C's every where and that new Coach Poppy, it's cute that they are aiming at other target markets avoiding the mid 40's to 50's women scrummging at duty free's in air ports. BUT I don't think mixing logo's with sequins are the way to go. I love their genuine leather goods and Can't wait until my mother passes down her hot pink pouch from coach about 12 years ago!

the most needed stuff on the beach

Well, I love tanning and swimming and eating ice-cream on the beach... but the day to the beach isn't the same with out my selections of stuff which will win the best summer must-have award, if there is one. Maybe at the Kodak theatre the day after the oscars? Any way, in this picture it's missing my favourite pair of sunnies:( I lost them the other day. I'll find another fab one by Marc Jacobs!

These Bikini's are Seafolly Bikini's from 10years ago!! My aunty never wore them and 10 years later, it came travelling into my hands.. I LOVE them! It's not pretending to have the vintage vibe... it is old but in the most perfect condition.

I love it because it stands out from all the others, and it actually covers my boobies...
The shape of the top and the bottom does send off a 90's sorta vibe. the pants are reversable and high waisted! the flowers look like the background of where spongebob square pants lives...
This Hat was my X'mas present. Helen Kaminski is one of Australia's most treasured designers. Her designs are so natural and comforting. The bag behind is  'sea bag' it's made by all recycled sails of the boats. It also funds various charity related to sailing aswell. It is all hand made and protects my things from the sand. It is such a good bag because not only is it for a good cause but it ver usable. I often buy things for charity, but I always find by self never using any of it. This I didn't get for charity, I came across this while strolling in Japan. And compleatly fell in love with the feel, lightness and the anchor! check it out! http://www.seabags.com/

This vintage 100% cotton shirt is so relaxing after a nice cool dip in the beach. I found it at a very small store in Harajuku, Japan. I will tie my hair up in a bun and wear this over my mad bikini then my out fir is complete! + my Helen Kaminski Bag

What do you love in summer? - my answer: not just the weather but the colourful fruits and sorbets! yummy
